Gift Guide for Aquarius

Gift Guide for Aquarius

Aquarius birthdays: January 20th - February 18th

As the name suggests, those born under the sign of Aquarius, the water bearer, are true water babies (even although Aquarius is actually an air sign), making anything connected to water a great gift choice. Stuck for watery ideas? It's time to think creatively: while a trip to the ocean would make a welcome break for any Aquarian, a set of bath treats is a more economical option: these bath indulgences, for instance, will allow them to wallow to their heart's content, giving the gift of water to the water bearers themselves.
Aquarian Aquarians are one of the most technologically advanced signs of the Zodiac. They love progress and are likely to be the gadget-freak of the family, always the first to buy the latest iPod, games console or other piece of electronic wizardry. Gadgets themselves, of course, will make an excellent Aquarian gift, but if you don't quite trust yourself to pick out the gadget of their dreams, think about pampering the gadgets they already have, with a Poire mobile phone holder or a new case for their iPod or laptop.

That passion for progress means that Aquarians are always keen to learn new things and explore new places. Books (or even book tokens) will help indulge their interest in learning, but if your gift will actually help them experience something new, so much the better. Bungee jumping, rock climbing or scuba diving will appear to Aquarius' adventurous side, but a block of night classes in a new subject may be just as welcome. Failing that, fun new stationery (like these safari pencils) will help them in their studies.

Aquarius also rules the ankles, and while socks may be a rather unimaginative gift, again, think creatively: if your Aquarian recipient is a baby, a baby hand and footprint kit is far more memorable (and will last a lot longer than those socks!); if they're adults, how about a foot massage, or a pedicure?

The birthstone for Aquarius is the amethyst, so consider either a chunk of amethyst itself, or a piece of amethyst jewellery, such as an oval faceted amethyst double hinged sterling silver pendant. If the Aquarian you're shopping for isn't a jewellery wearer, try buying something in amethyst colours instead, such as a sweater or throw.

Innovative and ready-for-anything, giving an Aquarius the right tools for the job could be a good idea. For adults, a Swiss Army Knife is something that can be tucked into the pocket and taken with them on adventures. For children, a traditional wooden tool box will let them make an early start on solving problems and creating prototype gadgets of their own If you're feeling brave, a chemistry set lets young Aquarians start inventing and creating - something that all Aquarians love!

Finally, Aquarians are fascinated and delighted by anything out of the ordinary, so remember, the more unusual your gift to them is, the more they're likely to love it!
